      1. I have a question please, i have Hp Pavilion 15 but i don’t know if it is 15-P000, how do i know that ? thank you

  2. Can I please elaborate on Dhruv’s question? Is there an mSATA or M.2 slot on this system board? What version system board is it and what HP Part number is this system board. I Have a HP Pavilion 15, model 15-p233TU, and I am hoping it has a M.2 slot so I can upgrade with an M.2 SSD. I don’t want to disassemble unless I know the slot is there.

    1. the 15-p233TU does not have M.2 capability. The only way to install a SSD is to exchange the HDD for a 2.5″ sata SSD.

  3. I have been having a problem with the lighting on this computer. You can we an image, but barely. If you plug to an external monitor, you still get an image. The problem is that there is no light for the main display. I have been trying to research it and what I found is that it could be a problem with the inverter. I opened uo mu computer but didn’t find anything that looked like what the inverter looked like on other models. Do I need a new cable? Would you know?

    1. The LED screen do not need a inverter, so your laptop without inverter. The problem may be coused by video cable or screen, you need to try replace them.

  4. How do you remove the actual keyboard from the enclosure? The outside bezel keeps me from popping it out and I can’t seem to figure out how to remove the back metal panel

    1. the keyboard on most 15 models from 2016 is part of the top plate, it is not a separate part that can be “popped” out. To replace the keyboard you need to replace the whole top plate which includes the touchpad.

However, some earlier models from 2015 and older do have a removable keyboard. So it depends on the model. You can tell if just the keyboard is replaceable by checking around the outer edge of the keyboard, you can see that it is separate to the housing and you can fit something very thin in between the keyboard and the housing to pop it out.

  5. hello there is hp Pavilion 15 p033tx upgradeable? especially ram? i want it to be 16gb. but hp website says there is only 1 slot of memory

  6. The keyboard is replaceable, but it is not a 10 minutes job.

As described at top of this guide, remove all screws underneath. They are all same length except the CD/DVD screw and hinge cap outer screws. Easy enough.

I used a Jewellers Knife to “pry up” the Palm Rest panel but an ordinary knife/credit card/spudger would probably do.

Front first, then sides then back, between the screen hinges.
Not too difficult and the hidden plastic latches just pop rather than break.

EXCEPT HP put a metal rivet in the middle of the CD/DVD slot. I drilled it out while cursing them.

Bit of wiggling, disconnect the cables and top plate/palm rest can be removed.

As mentioned somewhere, some variants have lots of plastic rivets for the aluminum plate protecting the underside of the keyboard.
I drilled some, others I just chiseled the heads off. Time-consuming and annoying. But not difficult.

I unscrewed the On/Off main power button board, it was slightly in the way.
Wiggle the aluminum plate and put it to one side.

Start pushing the keyboard keys through the keyboard frame. The just snap free.
I was worried I would break the frame, but all was well.

Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, as the automotive manuals used to say.

(I didn’t bother hot gun gluing the aluminum underside of the keyboard in place. Scotch tape was sufficient.
Once all the screws are back in all is fine.

But do power up and test keyboard while everything is still loose and apart.

  7. I have a hp Pavilion 15 p000 pc series.
I want to upgrade its ram.
I heard there is 2 slots.

    Please, let me know.
    In advance, thanks.

  8. Hey, It LEE again.
