  1. Hi I just bought a mi note 64gb with water damage. The phone turns on and operates with few errors.
It only things issues I have found are…

    1. The external speaker does not work. No sound at all. The ear piece on calls works and the head phone jack works.

2 the flash/ torch dosent work. The LEDs show no sign of life.

3 The vibration does not work.

4 The main camera is intermittent. The camera app crashes on opening most of the time. If I open Google camera app then dismiss the error and open the mi camera app it usually works. If I take a picture with the main camera then go to view the picture, the app will crash on return to camera. The front camera works all the time, for example using a selfie app.

Every thing else, display, touch, WiFi , calls, mic, ect works.

The purpose of me asking is to help identify where on the mother board damage may cause these errors. I understand it may be damage to the internals of a chip. I have already tried to clean the mother board with a toothbrush and 99% alcohol.

    Any ideas are welcome thanks.

  2. Hi, great experiment there. Could you tell how to open or replacing the on/off button flexible? I can remove the top case but I’m stuck at removing the button from the bezel. Should I tear down the screen also?

    1. I think you should remove the back cover, battery and motherboard to replace the on/off button module.
