OnePlus 9 Series Will Feature Sony IMX766 Ultra-Wide Lens With Free Form Curved Surface Lens

It is known that the famous Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has previously announced that they will launch the new OnePlus 9 series on March 24. As the launch time is coming near, the officials are revealing the main highlight of the phone.

OnePlus (on its official Weibo profile) has recently confirmed that the upcoming flagship series OnePlus 9 will feature the Sony’s IMX766 lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens. In addition, it is also equipped with a free-form curved surface lens and 5000W pixels for ultra-clear wide-angle images.

As per previous info, the upcoming OnePlus 9 series will feature a Fluid AMOLED Display packed with QHD+ resolution (in Pro version) & Full-HD+ resolution (in Standard version). Both versions will feature a 120Hz refresh rate.

The latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 888, is confirmed to be featured on the OnePlus 9 series. The Snapdragon 888 is a 5nm (manufacturing process) based chipset. It features Cortex-X1 Super-Core, which takes the performance to another level.

Some leaks also showed that the OnePlus 9 Pro would feature a quad-camera setup on the backside, consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX789 primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP Telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The OnePlus 9 (vanilla) will lack the 8MP Telephoto lens.

A bigger battery around 4500mAh is expected to be equipped on both models with 65W fast charging support. Both the models are reported to come with a charger out of the box.
