Sony Xperia 1 III Specs Revealed: 4K OLED With Snapdragon 888 5G

Not a long time ago, Sony released its Xperia 1 II, a flagship model with Snapdragon 865 chipset. Now, it seems like Sony is planning to launch the successor of this model.

Today, the famous blogger @TheGalox_ (on Twitter) has revealed the specifications of Sony’s expected model (Xperia 1 III). According to him, the all-new Sony Xperia 1 III will feature an OLED Display with 4K (2160p) resolution and HDR (High Dynamic Range) support. The size of the display would be about 6.5 inches.

He also mentioned that the display’s brightness would be 15% more than the current model (Sony Xperia 1 II). Inside the phone, the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset has been used. The chipset has eight cores and is based on a 5nm manufacturing process. The chipset uses a Cortex-X1 super core (clocked @2.84GHz).

As the chipset supports 5G Network connectivity, the phone would also support a 5G Network connection. It would be equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone will also be IP65/68 certified, which means the device is water and dust resistant up to 1.5 Meters and 30 Minutes.

The device would be available in an 8+256GB storage variant, as the blogger mentioned, but there may be more variants. The variant 8+256GB would be priced at 1199 USD.

Currently, the launch of the device is expected in the 2nd Quarter of 2021.
