The upcoming Vivo S17 series has been in leaks and rumors for a long time. Even the expected models in this lineup also got listed on different certification sites, revealing their basic specifications. However, the company has finally ended the leaks by officially announcing the Vivo S17 series.
This morning, Vivo (on Weibo) officially announced that the all-new Vivo S17 series will be launched on May 31st at 2:30 PM (as per the launch event) in a launch event. The company hasn’t revealed anything more in the official announcement except the launch date.
However, thanks to the blogger @DigitalChatStation. The blogger has revealed the renders of both Standard and Pro models in addition to their specifications. Before going into details, it is worth mentioning that this series would consist of three models: Vivo S17e, Vivo S17, and Vivo S17 Pro. The renders and specifications of Vivo S17e have already been discussed in one of our previous articles.
Starting from the display, both Standard and Pro models in the Vivo S17 series will feature a 6.78 inches single punch-hole curved display that supports 1.5K resolution and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The entire series will use a plastic frame with a thickness of 7.46mm and weighing around 188g.
Regarding the chipset, the Pro model would be powered by Dimensity 8200, a sub-flagship category chipset from MediaTek. The standard model is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 7 series chipset (most probably Snapdragon 778G or 782G).
In terms of camera specifications, the Vivo S17 Pro features a triple camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX766V lens, an 8MP Sony IMX355 Ultra-Wide lens, and a 12MP Sony IMX663 Telephoto lens with 2x zoom support. The standard model will feature a dual camera setup and lacks the telephoto lens.
The entire series will support 80W fast charging, including the Vivo S17e as well. However, the Pro model’s battery capacity is only known now, i.e., 4500mAh. Moreover, the optical in-display fingerprint scanner is also a major highlight of the Vivo S17 series.
