Lenovo Legion 5 Disassembly (RAM, M.2 SSD, HDD upgrade options)

Starting from May 1, Lenovo Legion 5 has accepted the reservation on Lenovo’s U.S. official website. Not long ago, Lenovo laptop product manager shared several internal images of Legion 5. In this article, we will analyze the possibility of upgrading the SSD and memory of Legion 5.

As can be seen from its interior pictures, the internal design of Lenovo Legion 5 has similarities with the previous rescuer products, but the changes are still relatively large. In the upper part of it is a heat dissipation module. The Lenovo Legion 5 notebook uses dual fans for heat dissipation. A long heat pipe runs through the CPU and the graphics card, and there are two shorter heat pipes that conduct to the CPU and the graphics card. In addition, the hard disk adopts the design of dual M.2 SSD or M.2 SSD + 2.5-inch SATA, of which M.2 and SATA on the left are two choices.

It is more intimate that its memory still retains a metal shield. This notebook has two memory slots. Since the two memory slots are covered by the heatsink, we cannot directly see the two memory slots. According to Lenovo Official information, it can support up to 32G DDR4 3200MHz memory, which means you can install two 16GB DDR4 3200MHz memory.

On the right side of the picture, there is a silver heat sink, below which is an Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 wireless network card and an M.2 2280 SSD, on the left side of the picture there is an M.2 2280 slot and a 2.5 Inch HDD bay, but unfortunately the two of them are in conflict, you can only use one of the slots, but two M.2 SSDs are enough to meet the needs of most users, if you need to install a 2.5 “SSD or mechanical hard drive, then you need a SATA cable and HDD caddy, it is not clear whether Lenovo has reserved SATA cable and HDD caddy for this laptop.

In addition, Lenovo Legion 5 has a lithium-ion battery with model number L19M4PC0, and its capacity is 60Wh.
