Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Teardown

On March 16, 2018, Xiaomi officially held a conference to release the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. It is the fifth generation product of the Redmi Note series. As for specification, the phone features a 5.99-inch FHD+ full screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Soc. Besides, the official party has claimed that the Redmi Note 5 will bring an excellent picture-taking effect. Today, we will tear down this smartphone to see its internal design and workmanship.

First of all, remove the SIM card tray. This card tray uses white plastics, and it has a thin metal framework inside. The back cover is not fixed either by screw or glue, so I can easily separate it from the phone body. The phone’s fingerprint reader module is fixed on the screen side. Therefore, we do not need to worry about cable when removing the back cover.

It adopts a three-stage design on the back cover, and a metal framework is placed in the middle part. The top and bottom parts of the back cover use the molding process. The back of the cover is covered by a graphite sticker.

Most of the components are integrated into the motherboard and covered by metal covers, and they have been placed in a neat arrangement. Remove the screws of the metal cover, which is used to fix the BTB of the fingerprint module, and then we can take out the fingerprint reader. After removing the fingerprint reader, we found there was a small heat-dissipating copper foil under it. From that, we can see that Xiaomi has paid much attention to the phone’s design on heat dissipation.

Next, disconnect a variety of connectors. After disconnecting all the connectors on the motherboard, we can take out the motherboard. By the way, there is no cable on the back of the motherboard.

The back of the motherboard is covered by grease and cooling copper foil. We have to admit that the phone has adopted a good design for heat dissipation. In this way, the phone may bring excellent heat dissipation performance.

After taking out the motherboard, we can see the sound chamber. Remove all the screws, and then the sound chamber can be taken out. There is a small plate hidden behind the sound chamber. The Micro USB and 3.5mm audio ports are placed on the plate.

It sports a large 4000mAh battery. The battery is slightly higher than the roll cage. We can see the dual camera setup module, details of the motherboard, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, as well as memory particles.

We have finished the teardown of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Generally speaking, it is easy to tear down the phone. This full-screen smartphone is expected to bring good performance on heat dissipation.
