This morning, Digital Chat Station revealed the specifications of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chipset. Although this chipset has been rumored for a long time, its specifications had not been confirmed until now.
According to the blogger, the Snapdragon 875 is an octa-core chipset with one Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.84 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.42 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz.
This chipset is manufactured using a 5nm process and features an Adreno 660 GPU. The Snapdragon 875 also has improved cache and memory bandwidth.
According to rumors and leaks, the Cortex-X1 core’s peak performance is 23% higher than that of the Cortex-A78 core. The chipset also features the Snapdragon X60 5G modem, which supports the mmWave and sub-6 GHz bands. The same 5G modem has been used in the Apple iPhone 12 series.
The chipset will compete with the Samsung Exynos 2100 and the Huawei Kirin 9000. Both competitors are also manufactured using a 5nm process.
It is reported that Qualcomm will hold the 2020 Snapdragon Technology Summit on December 1, where it is expected to unveil a new 5nm flagship chipset.
