Recent reports indicate that Huawei is actively ordering components for 4G smartphones and related devices from its suppliers. Some component manufacturers have been notified that Huawei will resume purchasing motherboards and other components this month.
According to Yicai, an anonymous Huawei supplier stated that orders for the new 4G phone have begun to back up. Currently, only small batches of rolling orders are placed, and there is no way to estimate the specific order volume.
The Huawei supplier stated that according to the shipment schedule of market orders, current mobile phone orders are expected to be delivered in the first half of next year. Huawei has not responded to the above news.
Qualcomm stated, ‘We have obtained licenses to supply some products to Huawei, including some 4G products,’ indicating that it has received an export license to supply 4G chips to Huawei.
The report also mentioned that Huawei’s internal staff stated that the supply of 4G chips is sufficient to meet the demand for smartphones and tablets in most overseas regions, thereby maintaining sales channels in major overseas markets. Currently, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America are still 4G markets. Some regions only offer 4G networks, and 4G products are still competitive.
