MediaTek will launch a new Dimensity series on January 20

For a long time, the industry has expected MediaTek to launch a new chipset series to succeed the Dimensity 1000 series. The recently rumored MT6893 chipset appears to be positioned for the mid-range market.

Today, MediaTek announced that it will hold a product launch event on January 20 to unveil its new Dimensity series chipsets.

According to netizens, it is still unclear whether the new Dimensity series will be the successor to the Dimensity 1000 series or the previously leaked mid-range chipset (MT6893).

MediaTek is reportedly working on a 6nm process, so this new chipset is expected to be manufactured using it. The new Dimensity 2000 series is expected to feature a Cortex-X1 core, which will elevate the chipset’s performance to a new level.

The MT6893 seems to be a new mid-range chipset and could also be part of the launch event. This chipset consists of four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores.

As for which new series of chipsets MediaTek plans to launch, we will have to wait a bit longer. The press conference will be held on January 20 at 14:30.
