Today, Motorola announced that the Moto X40 will be released on December 15. The official announcement did not disclose further details, but it is worth noting that the announcement was made using the Moto X40.
It is worth mentioning that the phone was also listed on the AnTuTu benchmark with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset a few days ago, scoring over 1.3 million points.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is built on a 4nm TSMC process and features a new core architecture with a Cortex-X3 super core, two Cortex-A715 cores, two Cortex-A710 cores, and three Cortex-A510 cores. Its GPU is the Adreno 740.
Earlier, the Moto X40 also appeared on the TENAA certification website. It measures 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 196 grams. The device features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080) and supports 10-bit color depth.
The device features a rear triple camera module (50MP, 50MP, 12MP) and supports 4x optical zoom. The phone is expected to have two different battery versions: one with a 4950mAh battery and the other with a 4450mAh battery. The charging speed is unknown.
The phone will also support under-display fingerprint recognition and facial unlock features. According to the official statement, the device will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
Motorola is expected to reveal more highlights about the Moto X40 in the coming days.
