Lenovo S41-70 Disassembly
In this guide, I will explain how to disassemble the Lenovo S41-70 to remove the bottom cover, battery, RAM, hard drive, wireless card, cooling fan, and motherboard.

Remove the eleven screws securing the bottom cover.
Insert a plastic pick near the hinge under the bottom cover. There are some clips to secure it to the palm rest. Slide the pick to release all clips until the bottom cover completely separates from the laptop.
On the bottom cover, there are two shock-absorbing sponges corresponding to the position of the hard drive, which are placed to prevent the hard drive from being damaged by vibrations.
Now, you can access the battery, hard drive, wireless card, RAM, heat sink, and cooling fan.
The Lenovo S41-70 has a 7.4V, 4050mAh Li-polymer battery, and the Lenovo model is L14M2P21.
Disconnect the battery power cable from the motherboard and remove all screws securing the battery. The battery can be removed.
Remove all screws securing the hard drive module.
The Lenovo S41-70 features a Western Digital 500GB hard drive. It is mounted on a metal bracket. If you need to replace the hard drive, you need to remove it and install it on the new hard drive.
Disconnect the two wireless card antenna cables and remove the screw securing the wireless card.
The wireless card model is T77H542.00, and the Lenovo model is 00JT473.
On the back, we find that its model number is Broadcom BCM943162ZP wireless card.
The Lenovo S41-70 only has one RAM slot. To upgrade the RAM, you can replace it with a big-capacity one.
Remove all screws securing the heat sink and cooling fan, and then disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard.

The cooling fan is coming from Taiwan SUNON.
Remove all screws securing the motherboard and disconnect all ribbon cables. Lift the motherboard from one side with your hand and wiggle it until it fully separates from the palm rest.
The Lenovo S41-70 comes with an Intel Core i5-5200U 2.2 GHz processor. It is soldered onto the motherboard, so it cannot be upgraded.

When the motherboard is removed, you can access the touchpad and keyboard. The keyboard is soldered to the palm rest, and you need to melt the plastic anchors with a soldering iron to remove the metal plate on the keyboard. Then, you can access and replace the keyboard.
