Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Teardown
Before tearing down the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, let’s review its specifications. The phone was launched in February 2016. It features a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a PPI of 534 pixels per inch.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is equipped with a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 200GB via a microSD card. The phone packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The phone runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 3600mAh non-removable battery. It measures 150.90 x 72.60 x 7.70 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 157 grams.

Tools needed: Screwdriver, tweezers, crowbar, and guitar pick
First, remove the SIM card tray.

The SIM card tray has a T-shaped design to prevent backwards insertion.

Heat the edge of the back cover for about 3-5 minutes.

Pry up a little bit with a suction cup, and then insert a guitar pick between the back cover and the chassis.

Slide the pick along the edge of the back cover until it comes off.

Now the back cover was removed.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge back cover features a full-foam rubber seal design to achieve water and dust resistance.

Remove the twelve screws that secure the wireless charging & NFC module, antenna bracket, and speaker module.

Remove the wireless charging & NFC module.

There is a layer of graphite thermal film on the speaker.

Disconnect the battery connector.

Disconnect the front camera cable.

Disconnect the earpiece and light distance sensor cable.

Disconnect the display video cable.

Disconnect the side button cable.

Front camera: 5MP, the model is S5K4E6XP, a single-pixel area of 1.34μm

Disconnect the RF cable and coaxial cable.

Disconnect the bottom board cable.

Disconnect the rear camera cable and remove it.

Rear camera: 12MP, 1.4μm pixel size, supports Dual Pixel autofocus, and uses STMicroelectronics’ K2G2IS gyroscope.

Remove the three screws securing the Micro-USB module and remove it.

Remove the light distance sensor & charge indicator module.

The vibration motor model is 0832, and it is secured with double-sided tape.

Remove the side button FPC module.

The battery is secured with double-sided adhesive. To remove the battery, you need a pry tool.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features a 3600mAh battery.

Now, heat the display to remove it.
