A few days ago, we reported that OnePlus is developing a new device powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. At the time, the specific model was not disclosed, but this morning, the leaks industry has confirmed the information about the device.

For the first time in history, OnePlus will use a MediaTek chipset, and surprisingly, the first device will be from the Nord series.

Previously, Digital Chat Station revealed that this phone will feature a single punch-hole screen with a Full HD+ resolution (possibly 2400×1080) and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its screen-to-body ratio is also expected to be quite impressive.

The back design of this phone is similar to the OnePlus 9 series, while the camera module is the same as the OnePlus 9 Pro. The only difference is that the Nord 2 will feature a triple camera setup (50 MP Sony IMX766, 8 MP, 2 MP) and an LED flash next to the fourth lens.

This phone will have a 4500 mAh battery, but the charging specifications have not yet been disclosed. The phone is expected to be priced at around $300. The Nord 5G features a Snapdragon 765G chipset and starts at $175.

This time, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be a flagship phone, rather than a mid-range phone like its predecessor. There is no word yet on when the device will be available.
