A few days ago, we reported that OnePlus is working on a new phone powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. At that time, there was no information on which device it would be, but this morning, the leaks industry has confirmed that.
Today, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been listed on the AI Benchmark site. It was further revealed that this device would feature the Dimensity 1200 chipset.
For the first time in history, OnePlus will use a MediaTek chipset, and surprisingly, the first device will be from the Nord series.
Previously, the famous blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that this phone will feature a single punch hole display with Full-HD+ (maybe 2400x1080p) resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio is also expected to be decent.
The phone has a similar back design to the OnePlus 9 series. The camera module is the same as the OnePlus 9 Pro. The only difference is that the Nord 2 will come with three lenses (50MP Sony IMX766 + 8MP + 2MP), and an LED flash will be placed next to the fourth lens.
This handset will use a 4500mAh battery while the charging specs have not been disclosed yet. It’s worth noting that this phone is expected to be priced at around $300. The Nord 5G starts at $175 with a Snapdragon 765G.
This time, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be a flagship phone and not a high-end mid-range phone like its predecessor. There is no word yet on when the device will be available.
