OnePlus introduced its OnePlus 9 series in March 2021, which was equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipsets. OnePlus has never used any other company’s SoC except Qualcomm. But now, the latest leaks suggest that history might have changed.
Recently, the well-known blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that OnePlus is working on a new smartphone powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200. This would be the first time that OnePlus would use the MediaTek chipset.
The blogger mentions that phones equipped with the Dimensity 1200 have a straight screen with a punch hole in the upper left corner, and the screen-to-body ratio is also reasonable.
The camera module will be similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro. It has the same main camera lens, the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. As the blogger mentioned, there will be three cameras. An LED flash will be placed at the location of the fourth lens.
Surprisingly, this phone will use the old Oxygen OS, while all the company’s latest phones use Color OS. The blogger also mentioned that it is not confirmed whether it will be exclusive to China or launched globally.
According to the blogger, the price will be around CNY 2000 ($313). We can also expect OnePlus to launch this device as its first gaming phone.
