A few days ago, we reported that OnePlus is working on a new phone which is powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. At that time, there was no info, which model it would be, but this morning, the leaks industry has confirmed that.
Today, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been listed on the AI Benchmark site, in which it was further revealed that this new model in the Nord series would feature the Dimensity 1200 chipset. It would be the same Dimensity 1200 powered machine, which was leaked before.
For the first time in history, OnePlus will use Mediatek’s chipset, and surprisingly, the first model would be from the Nord series.
Previously, the famous blogger @Digital Chat Station has revealed that this new Dimensity 1200 powered machine from OnePlus will feature a Single Punch-Hole Display with Full-HD+ (maybe 2400*1080p) resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio is also expected to be decent.
On the backside, the design would be similar to the OnePlus 9 series. The camera module would be the same as in OnePlus 9 Pro. The only difference is that the Nord 2 will feature three lenses (50MP Sony IMX766 + 8MP + 2MP), and at the spot of the fourth lens, the LED flash will be placed.
A 4500mAh battery will be used inside the phone while the charging specifications haven’t been disclosed yet. It is worth mentioning that the expected price of this model is around 300$. The previous model, Nord 5G, has a starting price of $175, equipped with Snapdragon 765G.
This time, the newer generation of OnePlus Nord will be a flagship phone instead of a premium mid-range phone like the previous model. Regarding the launch of the device, there is no news yet.
