Hi there, I've been having an issue with my right side fan for my ROG Strix G1713RM model. The fan runs and blows out air however after a random amount of times, my fan will start a very loud grinding noise while still pushing out air, but it appears to be at about 50% capacity. Before the fan runs into this problem, it has no issues running and can even run a full stress test at 6900RPM during the grinding. I can get up to about 5500RPMs, sometimes a little higher, sometimes 4000 RPMs, but generally speaking, it's around the 5500 mark. Should I purchase a new set of fans, or is this a motherboard/connection issue? I've only taken the fan out once to clean it. This was after the noise had already occurred about 3-5 times. The first and second time I just blew it out with air. The third time, I physically removed the fan, which had a large amount of hardened dust on the undercarriage. After cleaning this, the Laptop seemed to run fine for a couple of days with no issue reoccurring until a couple days later. Thank you for your time and consideration of a potential customer! This may be due to the aging of the fan, and you can try replacing it with a new one.
