The Lenovo ThinkPad E490 is basically the same as the ThinkPad E480. It uses a 6.9mm ultra-narrow bezel, and the keyboard still uses a 1.8mm key travel. The ThinkPad E490 is equipped with a USB-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI 1.4b port, an RJ45 port, and a Micro SD card reader and audio port.

It uses Intel's latest Whiskey Lake processor - i5-8265U and i7-8565U, the graphics card has been upgraded to the RX 550X.
