Last month, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A was spotted on TENAA. This afternoon, Xiaomi launched the phone.
The Redmi 5A adopts an engineering plastic body on the back and a completely symmetrical design on the front. It provides champagne, pink and grey three color options.
The phone features a 5-inch touchscreen and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. The Snapdragon 425 features an Adreno 308 GPU and an X6 LTE baseband. Its download speed reaches up to 150 Mbps.
The 5A features a 5MP front camera with an F/2.0 aperture for selfies, while the rear camera module includes a 13MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and supports phase detection autofocus technology. This smartphone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery, which can last eight days in standby mode.
It is priced at CNY 599 (approximately $91). The phone will be on sale at 6:00 pm today and officially on sale at 10:00 am, October 20, on Mi.com, Xiaomi Fans Club, JD.COM, Tmall, Suning, and some official offline channels.
