Recently, a new Xiaomi smartphone with model number MCT3B was spotted on TENAA. The phone is expected to be the Xiaomi Redmi 5A.

The Redmi 5A has an appearance similar to a mini version of the Redmi Note 5A, but the back cover features a three-stage design. The device does not come with a fingerprint recognition function. Its dimensions are 144.4 x 70.14 x 8.35 mm, and it weighs 137.0 grams. It is available in black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, grey, and silver color options.


This phone features a 5.0-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor (possibly Qualcomm Snapdragon 425). It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The device features a 5MP front camera for selfies and a 13MP rear camera. It runs Android 7.1.2 and has a built-in 3000 mAh battery.
Currently, the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM variant is priced at CNY 599 (approximately $89). The Redmi 5A is expected to start at CNY 599.
