The patent was applied on June 28, 2019, and released on June 23, 2020. The patent was submitted by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. to China National Intellectual Property Administration Office in June last year.
According to the pictures in the patent, we can know that the camera module can rotate 360 degrees. When it is working, the camera will stand up to take photos. But the most interesting thing is that when the camera turns to the left or right, it can also work. This is a very interesting design. If it is applied to the mobile phone, when the mobile phone is put in the pocket, the camera module maybe move to another angle due to external force.
And it’s worth noting that there is no front camera hole on the front of this mobile phone, so we know that it should use the under-screen camera module. At present, this technology has been broken through by Visionox and has achieved mass production. It is expected that the mobile phone with the under-screen camera will be released in the second half of this year.
Although patents may not come true in the end, they do show the direction of a company’s efforts. As smartphones continue to challenge the limits of mobile photography, there must be new technologies to achieve. After all, you can’t always increase the sensor size and focal length.
