It’s been around seven years since Samsung has released any model in its C-series. The last model in this lineup is the Galaxy C7 2017 (aka Galaxy C8 in Chinese market), one of Samsung’s first dual-camera smartphones in the mid-range series. The latest leaks are claiming that Samsung is going to revive this series.
This morning, a new model named “Galaxy C55 5G” was listed on the Google Play Console. From its renders and model number, it is concluded that this model would be the rebranded version of Galaxy F55 and Galaxy M55. As per certification, the device carries the following model number: Samsung m55xq.
The certification mentions that this model is powered by the SM7450 chipset, i.e., the model number of the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset. The chipset is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and consists of 4x Cortex-A710 P-Cores (clocked @2.4GHz) and 4x Cortex-A510 E-Cores (clocked @1.8GHz). The CPU is also integrated with Adreno 644 GPU (clocked @443MHz).
On the front side, the device is equipped with a Single Punch-Hole OLED Display integrated with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The display supports Full-HD+ (2400*1080p) resolution and 450 DPI. The certification also mentions that this model features 8 Gigs of RAM and runs the latest Android 14 OS.
In addition, from the renders, it can be seen that the device features a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the backside. If this model is the rebranded version of Galaxy M55, the triple camera setup would include a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP lens, and a 2MP lens.
The device’s appearance is identical to the leaked renders of Galaxy F55 and Galaxy M55. If the device uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chip, it’ll be interesting to see how it competes with the Galaxy A55 (powered by Exynos 1480).

Currently, there is no official news regarding the launch of the device. However, we expect it to happen very soon. Furthermore, this rebranded version of the Galaxy M55 is anticipated to be exclusively available in the Chinese market. This is because the C-series has historically been tailored towards the Chinese market.
