A few days ago, we reported that the Galaxy S21 FE had received FCC certification. Today, the device is also certified by TENAA.
This certification document reveals the complete specifications and renders of the device. According to the certification, the Galaxy S21 FE will feature a 6.4-inch display with 16 million color depth and Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080).
The images make it difficult to determine if the display has a front-facing camera, but it will likely have a single hole in the center. It is also expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone measures 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm.
The dimensions mentioned in the certification document are 155.7 x 4.5 x 7.9 mm, which seems incorrect, as the width cannot be only 4.5 mm. Therefore, we infer that the width should be 74.5 mm, consistent with the Galaxy S20 FE. In addition, the phone weighs about 176g.
The design of the rear camera module is similar to that of the Samsung S21 series. It features three lenses: 32MP, 12MP, and 8MP. On the front, there is only one 12MP lens. The fingerprint sensor is located below the display. The Galaxy S21 FE will also be dust and water-resistant.
The overall size and screen size of the Galaxy S21 FE have both been reduced. When held, the device may offer a more premium feel.
The certification document also shows that the Galaxy S21 FE has a 4370mAh battery and supports up to 45W fast charging. It is worth noting that sources claim the charger will not be included in the box. The device will offer two storage options: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.
In the certification, the Galaxy S21 FE has the model number SM-G9900, which denotes the Chinese version of this phone. In addition, the Chinese and US variants will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. In other regions, the company will use the Samsung Exynos 2100.
Samsung is expected to release the phone after the Galaxy Z series foldable phone launch event, possibly in September 2021 (as last year).
