  1. The USB port on my Dell Venue 8 7840 has become loose and will no longer charge. Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this? Can the USB port be purchased somewhere? Can it be easily swapped out or does it have to be desoldered?

Thank you in advance for any help solving this issue.

        1. Hi, Another David and Quixas. Quixas, my apologies. I only saw the question you posted back in November now. Unfortunately, I still haven’t found a solution to the faulty USB port. I still have my Venue 8 7840 sitting on my desk, hoping to find the answer someday. Currently, I have a $300 paperweight.

          1. I have the exact same loose USB port problem as everyone else, in case someone finds a solution. I can no longer charge the tablet. It looks like a defect in this model.
