Yesterday, Huawei unveiled the Mate X2 4G edition. The device retains nearly all specifications of its 5G edition, including the Kirin 9000 chipset, but 5G functionality has been disabled.
Today, Huawei launched a 4G edition for its other devices. The updated phone is the Nova 8 Pro, which launched in December 2020 and supports 5G networks. Huawei has listed this new device on its official website.
There is no difference between the 5G and 4G versions. Both devices use the same chipset, but the 4G version uses the Kirin 985 4G chipset, which does not support 5G connectivity, while the Kirin 985 5G chipset supports 5G functionality.
The Nova 8 Pro 4G features a 6.72-inch OLED display with dual punch holes in the top-left corner. The screen edges have a curvature of up to 80 degrees, and it supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
The display has a resolution of 2676 x 1236, supports 1.07 billion colors, and has a DCI-P3 wide color gamut. The phone measures about 163.3 x 74.1 x 7.9 mm and weighs around 184g.
This phone features a dual front camera setup (a 32MP ultra-wide lens and a 16MP lens). The rear has a quad-camera module (64MP, 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP).
This phone has a built-in 4000mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging, charging to 60% in 15 minutes and 100% in 35 minutes.
The Nova 8 Pro 4G is currently only listed on the official website. The prices and storage variants are unannounced.
