This morning, the Redmi has officially revealed on its official Weibo account that the company has stepped into the gaming industry for the first time. Before this, there is another Xiaomi sub-brand, “Black Shark,” which manufactures gaming phones and accessories.
The officials have mentioned that the first gaming phone will be released at the end of this month (April 2021). It is mentioned that the new gaming phone is positioned as “main game machine, main flagship + hard-core game function.”
The new gaming machine will also promote the ultimate cost-effective game flagship and officially signed a strategic co-operation agreement with Call of Duty Mobile Games.
It is reported that the Redmi gaming phone has already been spotted on many certification sites, equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset, and having a model number “M2104K10C” with developed code-named “Ares,” with e-sports design elements, and are also equipped with various game-oriented details and functions, and are also compatible with mainstream games.
Some leaks suggested that the Redmi Gaming Phone will feature the Dimensity 1200 chipset, a 5000mAh battery, support 65W fast charging, uses the Samsung’s E4 material AMOLED screen (the same one used in the Redmi K40 series) with a 144Hz refresh rate. The side fingerprint scanner would also be there.
The chipset “Dimensity 1200” is the world’s first 6nm smartphone chipset based on TMSC design. It consists 1x Ultra Cortex-A78 core (clocked @ 3GHz), 3x Super Cortex-A78 Cores (clocked @ 2.6GHz) and 4x Efficiency Cortex-A55 Cores (clocked @ 2GHz).
The new Redmi Gaming Phone will be unveiled before the end of this month.
