Meizu 20 Series Listed on 3C Certification: Battery Capacities Revealed

It was previously reported that Meizu is looking forward to releasing its all-new Meizu 20 flagship series next month. Instead of the Meizu 19 series, the company is planning to launch the 20th model in March 2023. As the expected launch time is near, more leaks and rumors are getting revealed.

This morning, the battery cells of both models (standard and Pro) in the Meizu 20 series got listed on 3C certification dababase, revealing the battery information of Meizu’s upcoming flagship series.

BA381

At first, we have the battery with model number: BA381, which belongs to the standard version of Meizu 20. This battery cell has a rated value of 4600mAh and a typical value of 4700mAh. Compared with the last generation model (standard Meizu 18), the battery capacity has been upgraded by 600mAh.

XA24751

Next, we have the battery with model number: XA24751. This battery belongs to the Meizu 20 Pro and has the following battery values: 4670mAh rated value and 4800mAh typical value. The battery capacity of this model is just upgraded by 170mAh. However, from this leak, we can expect that the next generation of Meizu’s flagship series will have a better battery backup than previous generation models.

A few days before, the renders of the Meizu 20 Pro were also revealed, in which it was shown that this lineup would adopt a new flat edges frame design instead of round edges (as in previous generation models). Further, the Pro model will also feature a new minimalist vertical video module on the backside.

In terms of internal, both models are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset. The chipset is based on a 4nm TSMC process and comes with a new architecture that consists of 1x Cortex-X2 Super Core (clocked @3.2GHz), 2x Cortex-A715 and 2x Cortex-A710 Performance cores (clocked @2.8GHz) and 3x Cortex-A510 Energy-efficient cores (clocked @2.0GHz).

Through sources, it is also reported that the all-new LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 flash storage would also be among the major highlights of the Meizu 20 series.

Further, in an official teaser, the company has revealed that this lineup will feature the all-new ultra-sonic fingerprint 2.0, which supports fast wet-hand unlocking at 0.075s, the quickest in the smartphone industry. At the same time, Pandaer (Meizu’s accessories manufacturer) will release the official tempered glass film, which can solve the compatibility problem of ultrasonic fingerprints and tempered film.

The new Meizu 20 series is expected to launch next month (March 2023).
