A few days ago, ASUS officially confirmed that it will launch a new smartphone, but did not reveal any further details. The company appears to be planning to launch a new generation of its gaming smartphone.
Today, WHYLAB revealed a live photo of the new ROG gaming phone. The photo shows that the device has a similar appearance to the ROG Phone 3.
The live photo shows the number 5, indicating that ASUS will skip the ROG Phone 4 and launch the ROG Phone 5 directly. This move is consistent with the past practices of some smartphone manufacturers.
The ROG brand logo has been moved to the lower left corner on the back. This phone uses the same triple camera module as the ROG Phone 3, with a 64MP main camera. There is also a red button on the lower right corner of the body (possibly for one-touch access to game mode).
Some leaks also confirmed that the device will have a 6000 mAh battery and support 65W fast charging. In addition, the ROG phone with model number I005DA has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. This phone is very likely the upcoming ROG Phone 5.
The exact release date for this phone has not been officially announced yet.
