As Honor promised, the Honor V40 series has been officially announced today with its specifications. The phone will also go on sale today at 12 p.m.
At the launch event, all the specifications were discussed in detail. The main specifications are the following:
Display:
The Honor V40 features a 6.72-inch curved display with a resolution of 2676 x 1236. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate to support precise ambient light management. The screen has a pixel density of 440 PPI, a contrast ratio of up to 5000000:1, supports the DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and can reach a brightness of 800 nits. The Honor V40 is the world’s first smartphone to receive the German TÜV 2.0 global eye protection certification.
Hardware & Software:
The Honor V40 feature the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset. It is a 7nm process chipset with a maximum frequency of 2.6 GHz. The device supports GPU Turbo X, Link Turbo, and a memory management engine, while the rear cooling plate ensures the phone can run continuously in HUNTER Boost mode. The phone features dual stereo speakers and dual linear motors, supporting 4D vibration.
Battery & Charging:
The Honor V40 comes with a 66W charger. The company claimed that this charger can charge the battery to 60% in 15 minutes. The phone uses a single-cell, three-electrode ultra-fast charging solution. The company has not yet revealed the device’s battery capacity.
Camera:
The Honor V40 features a quad-camera system with a 50MP ultra-sensitive main lens (with an RYYB array). The device also supports 4K HDR time-lapse photography. The company has also shared some live shots taken by the device. The other two lenses are an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens with a laser autofocus sensor.
Storage & Pricing:
The Honor V40 will be available in two storage options: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at CNY 3,599 ($556), and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at CNY 3,999 ($618). It will come in four colors options: black, gold, gradient blue, and purple. The phone will go on sale today at 12 PM.
