MediaTek will soon launch Dimensity 900 chipset based on 6nm process

On May 12, a reliable digital blogger @Digital Chat Station broke the news that MediaTek is about to launch a new 5G SoC, which may be named Dimensity 900 (MediaTek MT6877).

The engineering machine’s score on AnTuTu is about 480,000 points, its score surpassed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G chip, and the Snapdragon 780G scored about 540,000 on AnTuTu. This chip uses a 6nm process and has four Cortex-A78 cores. He believes that the first mobile phone equipped with Dimensity 900 will be priced at 2500 yuan.


Judging from the performance of this chip on AnTuTu, this chip will be the successor of the Dimensity 820 and become another heavyweight member of the mid-range mobile phone SOC.

The blogger previously broke the news of a new OPPO mid-range model PEQM00, which will be equipped with MediaTek MT6877. The phone comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+, 90Hz OLED screen, it has a 32MP front lens, and the rear camera is 64MP OV64B, this phone has 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and 4400mAh battery.

According to data released by Omdia, in the global smartphone market in 2020, MediaTek’s mobile phone chip shipments reached 352 million, compared with 238 million in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 48% and a market share of 27%.

In the past year, Xiaomi has shipped more than 60 million mobile phones equipped with MediaTek chips, and Huawei has purchased a large number of MediaTek chips.
