A few days ago, reports surfaced that Meizu is developing a smartwatch. An unknown Meizu watch with the model number M007W even appeared on the 3C certification website. Today, more leaks of this upcoming watch have surfaced.
Today, the China National Intellectual Property Office approved a new patent for the Meizu Watch. The patent revealed the watch’s appearance, which is very similar to Apple’s Watch series. The only difference is the shape of the watch case on both sides.
The case has a slight curve and a square box shape. The screen bezel seems a bit wider, but the overall appearance is still very similar to the Apple Watch. There is only one button on the right side, which may be used for a particular purpose. On the other side, there is a speaker.
The device may use magnetic charging, indicating that its charging method could be similar to that of the Apple Watch. Looking at the strap, its shape is almost identical to Apple’s silicone strap. The patent documents show two color options: light blue and black.
Previously, a Meizu smartwatch also appeared on the 3C certification website. It was revealed that the watch can be used independently of a phone, supports 4G networks and 7.5W fast charging, but the packaging does not include a charger.
The release of the Meizu smartwatch has not been confirmed yet. However, since development seems to be in its final stages, the smartwatch may launch soon.
