Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Yesterday, Nubia officially stated that the company is looking forward to releasing the Red Magic 8S series on July 5. As the release time approaches, the company has started revealing the main highlights of the device on its social media platforms.

This morning, the company confirmed that the Red Magic 8S Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. The chipset comes with the exact specifications we have seen in the Galaxy S23 series chipset.

As mentioned in the official teaser, the chipset’s highest frequency is 3.36GHz on the Cortex-X3 super core. The other cores include two Cortex-A715 and two Cortex-A710 cores at 2.8 GHz and three Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0 GHz.

The chipset is based on 4nm TSMC’s 2nd-generation manufacturing process and features the Adreno 740 GPU and the Snapdragon X70 5G modem. At first, it was also rumored that this device would feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset, but now the officials have confirmed it.

Nubia has also revealed that the high-end storage variant of Red Magic 8S Pro will have 24GB RAM.

Except for the chipset, the Red Magic 8S Pro will be the same as the Red Magic 8. It will feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1116 x 2480 pixels that supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

The camera specifications are expected to follow on the backside: 50MP+8MP+2MP. On the front, it will feature a 16MP single camera under the display. The phone will come with a 6000mAh battery and support 80W fast charging.

Nubia is expected to reveal more Red Magic 8S series highlights in the coming days.
