After the release of the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870 high-end chipsets, the next product line that Qualcomm will deploy is mid-range products.
Today, a new chip from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series was leaked on the Internet. According to Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm is about to launch the Snapdragon 780G SoC. Judging from the name, it appears to be an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 768G.
Its specifications include the new Spectra 570 ISP, FastConnect 6900, and X53 5G modem, with a peak download speed of up to 3.3 Gbps and support for WiFi 6, WiFi 6e, and Bluetooth 5.2. Other specifications will also be upgraded, but the blogger did not reveal specific details.
It is worth mentioning that some users have asked whether the Xiaomi 11 Lite will come with this chipset. The blogger gave a positive response to this.
Smartphones with this processor are currently in development, and the blogger revealed that these phones will be released in the second quarter of this year.
March and April of each year are the peak periods for new phone releases, primarily focused on flagship models. The next quarter will focus on mid-range and entry-level phones. I believe there will be more new products by then. As processors are gradually released, phone prices are likely to be reduced further.
