Sony released its Xperia 1 II with a Snapdragon 865 chipset not long ago. Now, the company seems to be planning to launch its successor.
Today, a Twitter blogger revealed the specifications of the Sony Xperia 1 III. According to him, the Sony Xperia 1 III will feature an OLED display with 4K resolution and support HDR. The display will be about 6.5 inches.
He also mentioned that the display brightness of this phone will be 15% higher than that of the Sony Xperia 1 II. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, an octa-core processor manufactured using a 5nm process.
The phone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and be IP65/68 certified, meaning it is waterproof and dust-resistant. It can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
The device will be available in an 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant, as the blogger mentioned, but there may be more variants. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is priced at $1,199.
Currently, the device is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2021.
