On February 7, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and several executives revealed that products such as the Xiaomi MIX series phones and Xiaomi tablets will be released this year.
At the same time, Xu Jieyun from Xiaomi Group stated that the tablet system will be one of MIUI’s key tasks this year. As the release date approaches, news about the Xiaomi Pad 5 is gradually increasing.
Last night, a tech blogger revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 5 will feature a Snapdragon 870 chipset and a 10.95-inch LCD screen. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is jointly supplied by CSOT and BOE.
The tablet will have a 20MP and 13MP lens, use a side-mounted fingerprint unlocking solution, and run the MIUI for Pad system. It is about 8.13mm thick and weighs about 510g.
The blogger also stated that the Xiaomi Pad 5 may come in two versions, one with the Snapdragon 870 and one with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, possibly named the Xiaomi Pad 5 and 5 Pro, respectively.
So far, Xiaomi has launched its fourth-generation tablet. Although the previous generation was released three years ago, many consumers are still using it.
The Xiaomi Pad 4 was launched in June 2018 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. It features an 8-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a 13MP rear lens, and a 5MP front lens.
