A few days ago, it was reported that MediaTek will be launching a new series of chipsets on January 20th. Some leaks also confirmed that this new series will consist of two chipsets named Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200.
Today, the famous blogger Digital Chat Station has revealed the specifications of the Dimensity 1100 chipset. As per the blogger, the Dimensity 1100 is the lower version of the Dimensity 1200, which is clocked at a lower frequency, but it has almost the same specifications as the Dimensity 1200 chipset.
As mentioned, the all-new Dimensity 1100 is an octa-core chipset based on a 6nm manufacturing process. It features 4x Cortex-A78 cores + 4x Cortex-A55 Cores. The highest frequency of the chipset is 2.6GHz with a Cortex-A78 core.
The blogger also stated that it is expected that all four Cortex-A78 cores may get clocked at 2.6GHz. If it is true, the chipset is very fragrant, as described by the blogger.
It is also known that the chipset would feature ISP support up to 108MP, while the display supports 144Hz refresh rate with Full-HD+ resolution. The Dimensity 1200 (MT6893) would support a 168Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 1100 also supports UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR4x memory.
The blogger also revealed that the upcoming Redmi K40 series would also feature an MT6893 chipset version. The Redmi K40 series is confirmed to launch with Snapdragon 888 currently.
