This afternoon, the famous Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station revealed the specifications of the Dimensity 7000 5G chipset. According to the blogger, these are the specifications of the prototype. The specifications of the actual chipset may be different.
As mentioned earlier, the Dimensity 7000 5G will be based on TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process and will have eight cores, including four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.75GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. The processor also has a Mali-G510 MC6 GPU.
The Dimensity 7000 5G seems to be a slightly upgraded version of the Dimensity 1100 chipset, as both have the same core and core count. The only difference is the frequency of the Cortex-A78 core (2.6GHz for the Dimensity 1100).
The chipset also has some improvements over the Dimensity 1100, such as an upgraded Mali-G510 GPU and a more advanced manufacturing process. This chipset will replace the Dimensity 1100 in the market.
In 2022, many sub-flagship smartphones are likely to feature this chipset. To be more competitive, Qualcomm will also need to launch an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 870 5G.
