How to remove the back cover on the Huawei P10

In this guide, we will show you how to remove the back cover on the Huawei P10 smartphone.

Repair Tools Needed:
0.8 Pentagonal screwdriver
Suction cup
Pick
Spudger
SIM Card Eject Tool

1. Removing the SIM card tray and two Pentalobe screws

First, turn off your phone and remove the SIM card tray.

Remove the two Pentalobe screws located at the bottom next to the USB Type-C port.
Remove the two screws

2. Open the back cover

Use a suction cup to separate the display from the back cover.
Open the back cover

Lift the display a little bit with a suction cup and insert a pick.
Slide the pick along the display edge on both sides.

Do not remove the back cover completely. The power button and volume button cables are still connected to the motherboard.

3. Disconnect the power button and volume button cable

Disconnect the power button and volume button cable using a spudger.

Now, the back cover has been completely removed.

    1. I found the back cover for the Huawei P10 is available on the Chinese site taobao.com, but I can not find it on eBay or other sites.

  2. What size Pentalobe screwdriver do I need? One screw is out, the other is turning but not coming out.
