Huawei Mate X3 Specifications Revealed: Snapdragon 8+, 2K Display and Many More

As observed from Huawei‘s past practices, the company usually reveals the successor to its Mate X series in the first quarter of the year, and currently, the same time of the year is going. Further, the industry’s information also hints that the launch of the upcoming Huawei Mate X3 isn’t far.

This morning, the famous blogger @DigitalChatStation revealed the specifications of Huawei’s upcoming Mate X3. As per the blogger, the new Mate X3 will adopt the inward folding solution just like the predecessor models.

Huawei Mate X3 Specs

Giving specification details, the blogger said that the Mate X3’s outer display (cover display) will be a single-centered punch-hole display (unlike the previous model, which comes with a single punch-hole on the right side). In contrast, the inner display (foldable display) features no camera module.

It would be powered by a generation-old flagship chipset, i.e., Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset, which is still a worthy and powerful SoC. The chipset is the overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and is based on better 4nm TSMC manufacturing which has lower power consumption (if compared with the standard version).

The blogger also revealed that the new Mate X3 would feature a triple rear camera setup, including Sony’s 50MP IMX766 (as the primary lens), Sony’s 13MP IMX688 Super Wide-Angle, and Sony’s 16MP IMX351 Periscope lens. In terms of battery, the new Mate X3 is expected to feature a 4800mAh battery in addition to 66W charging support. The battery capacity will be upgraded by 300mAh (4500mAh in Mate X2).

In the end, the blogger also mentioned that a lightweight and thin body would be a key feature of this phone.

As per previous news, it was reported that the new Huawei Mate X3 would be priced at around $1500. The current foldable flagship from Huawei, Mate Xs 2, has a starting price of $1450 (9999 yuan).

It is also worth mentioning that the new Mate X3 might not support 5G as Huawei currently has no license to use Qualcomm’s 5G chipsets. However, the company might later launch special cases for this model to enable 5G connectivity, as Huawei did in the past.

We can expect the launch of the all-new Huawei Mate X3 before the end of 2023’s first quarter.
