This morning, Huawei officially unveiled the 2021 MateBook X with the 11th-generation Core i5-1130G7 processor. In addition to hardware upgrades, the laptop brings many new changes.
The MateBook X 2021 comes with a 13-inch display and is primarily aimed at business professionals. This size may also appeal to MacBook Air users. Its dimensions are approximately 284.4 x 206.7 x 13.6 mm, and it weighs only 1.0 kg, making it an excellent portable device.
The notebook is available in three color options: Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, and Green Hill. Each color shows subtle variations when viewed from different angles. The body is made of aluminum alloy with a matte finish, with the logo area kept glossy.
The 13-inch display has many highlights, including a 3:2 screen ratio, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, 100% sRGB color coverage, 400 nits brightness, and a 178-degree ultra-wide viewing angle. It is an LTPS LCD touchscreen with a 3K+ resolution (3000 x 2000 pixels) and a pixel density of up to 278 PPI.
The MateBook X continues the keyboard style of its predecessor, offering the same comfortable typing experience. However, this laptop has a highly sensitive pressure-responsive touchpad, making the operating experience feel more refined.
This laptop is powered by the latest 11th-generation Intel Core i5-1030G7 processor built on the 10nm SuperFin process. The chipset features a quad-core, eight-thread architecture with 8MB of cache and integrates Intel Iris Xe graphics. The laptop comes with 16GB of LPDDR4x memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD.
This laptop uses a 42 Wh lithium-polymer battery. Huawei has not revealed any details about battery life. In addition, this laptop can only be charged via the Type-C port. The laptop comes with two Type-C ports.
This laptop comes with many new features, providing a smoother experience. Thanks to the new Huawei Share feature, file sharing between Huawei devices is easy and convenient.
The Huawei MateBook X 2021 is now available for sale. Users can purchase the 16GB RAM with 512GB storage variant at CNY 8,999 (~$1,400).
