This morning, Huawei officially unveiled the 2021 Matebook X with the 11th-generation Core i5-1130G7 processor. Apart from the hardware, the Matebook X 2021 features many new changes.
The Matebook X 2021 features a 13-inch display, primarily targeting business people. This size may also attract MacBook Air users. Its dimensions are approximately 284.4 x 206.7 x 13.6 mm, with a weight of only 1.0kg, providing an excellent portable experience.
The notebook has three color options: Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, and Green Hills. Each color provides slightly different colors from different angles. The laptop body is made of aluminum and has a matte finish; only the logo area has a shiny surface.
The 13-inch display has many highlights, such as a 3:2 aspect ratio, 90% screen-to-body ratio, 100% sRGB color gamut, 400 nits display brightness, and a 178-degree wide viewing angle. It is an LTPS LCD touchscreen with 3K+ (3000x2000p) resolution and 278PPI.
The Matebook X features the same keyboard style as the 2020 model, providing the same comfortable typing experience. However, this laptop has a new sensitive pressure trackpad that senses pressure feedback to make the experience more decent.
The laptop is powered by the latest 11th-generation Intel Core i5-1030G7 processor based on the 10nm SuperFin process. The chipset features four cores, eight threads, and 8MB of cache memory. It also has an Intel Iris Xe GPU, 16GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 512GB NVMe SSD.
The laptop uses a 42Wh lithium polymer battery. The officials have not revealed anything about the battery life. In addition, the laptop can only be charged via the Type-C port. The laptop comes with two Type-C ports.
The laptop has many new features that offer a smoother user interface experience. Thanks to the new Huawei Share feature, sharing files between Huawei devices is also made easy.
The Huawei Matebook X 2021 is now available for sale. Users can purchase the 16+512GB storage variant at CNY 8,999 (~$1,400).
