Lenovo Flex 3-1470 Disassembly
In this guide, I will explain how to disassemble the Lenovo Flex 3-1470 to remove the bottom cover, hard drive, RAM, heat sink, cooling fan, speakers, battery, and motherboard.

According to the sticker on the bottom cover, the model of this laptop is Flex 3-1470.
Remove the ten screws securing the bottom cover.
Insert a plastic pry tool near the hinge between the bottom cover and palm rest. Since there are clips on the bottom cover securing it to the palm rest, slide the pry tool to release the clips until the bottom cover fully separates from the laptop.
Under the bottom cover, you can access the internal components, including the battery, hard drive, wireless card, speakers, RAM, heat sink, and cooling fan.
Before touching internal components, we recommend removing the battery to prevent electrostatic damage to your laptop hardware.
Disconnect the battery power cable from the motherboard.
Disconnect the cable connecting to the USB board.
Remove all screws securing the battery, and then remove the battery.
The Lenovo Flex 3-1470 features a 4050mAh Li-polymer battery, and the Lenovo part number is L14M3P21.
Remove the screws securing the hard drive module.
Slide down and remove the hard drive module.
This Lenovo Flex 3-1470 features a WD 500GB 5400 RPM hard drive.
There is no spare M.2 NGFF on the motherboard, so if you want to upgrade the SSD, just remove the hard drive and replace it with a 2.5″ SSD.
Remove the screw securing the wireless card.
Disconnect the two wireless antenna cables.
The Lenovo Flex 3-1470 features an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 (3160NGW) wireless card.
The Lenovo Flex 3-1470 comes with a Ramaxel 4GB DDR3L 1600MHz RAM module. Since it only has one memory slot, upgrading the memory requires replacing the existing memory module.
Use your fingernail to separate the clips on both sides of the memory module, and it will pop out automatically.

In the next step, I will remove the cooling system.
Disconnect the cooling fan cable from the motherboard.
Remove the screws securing the heat sink.

Disconnect the LCD cable from the motherboard.
Remove the screws securing the LCD hinge.
Lift the motherboard from one side with your hand, then wiggle it until it separates from the palm rest.
