Previously, reports revealed that Qualcomm is working on the successor of the Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset. Furthermore, the new flagship chipset has the codename SM8450. The leaks also revealed that it would be based on Samsung’s 4nm process and use an X65 5G modem.
Today, some more developments have been disclosed regarding the new flagship chipset. The famous Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station has revealed that two new models from Xiaomi with codename Zeus and Cupid have been leaked with a chipset based on Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process.
As per sources, these new codenames belong to Xiaomi’s Mi 12 flagship series, which is expected to be released in mid-December. Last year, Xiaomi was the first smartphone manufacturer to use Snapdragon 888 in Mi 11, and it seems that the same will happen again this time.
Previously, the blogger Digital Chat Station reported that the new SM8450 (Maybe Snapdragon 895 or 898) would be upgraded to a 4nm manufacturing process, and the heat dissipation system wouldn’t be much improved. But at the same time, the performance will be 20% better than the previous Snapdragon 888 chipset. In addition, the SM8450 chipset will use the ARM v9 architecture, and the GPU will be Adreno 730 instead of Adreno 660.
In addition to the new chipset, the Mi 12 series is also expected to have better display specifications (compared with Mi 11 series). It is also expected to feature under-screen camera technology in addition to LTPO adaptive refresh rate. It can realize the adaptive refresh rate adjustment function of 1-120Hz.
