Yesterday, Xiaomi officially announced that the new Mi Pad 5 would be launched a new product launch event on August 10. In addition, the side frame design was also revealed in that announcement.
Today, the company has revealed another highlight regarding the upcoming tablet. It is found that the new Mi Pad 5 will adopt a full-screen design with extremely narrow bezels. It seems that it would be an equal width four-sided design.
Furthermore, it can be seen that the Mi Pad 5 will also support external keyboard connectivity with the stylus. This combo will bring better productivity applications and provide higher efficiency in office and learning.
As per previous news, the upcoming Mi Pad 5 will feature an IPS Display with a QHD+ (2560*1600p) resolution. It would size around 10.95 inches and support the following features: 120Hz Refresh Rate, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate, and 4096-level touch control.
Moreover, the Mi Pad 5 also supports In-Cell Active Pen Technology, making it a good competitor of Apple’s iPad models. It was also reported that the Mi Pad 5 would be available in three models. All three models will feature the same display but would be different in terms of internal specifications.
The base model will be powered by the Snapdragon 768G chipset. In contrast, the middle and top variants will be powered by Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870, respectively. The models with flagship chipset will feature 67W charging, while the base version will support 33W charging.
Previously, Xiaomi’s internal executives have revealed that the company has developed an MIUI for Pad System, targeting tablet products. It will support the features like handheld PC mode and provides a familiar computer operation interface, including the classic start menu.
The control center can also open multiple windows simultaneously, bringing a richer user experience and getting rid of the title “big screen mobile phone.”
