There have been rumors that OnePlus is developing another mid-range smartphone, which will feature the same chipset as the OnePlus Ace.
This morning, OnePlus announced that it will launch the OnePlus Ace Race Edition at 7 PM on May 17. The device will be powered by the same Dimensity 8100 Max chipset as the OnePlus Ace, and it will also be designed for gaming.
According to the official poster, the design of the device is very different. The OnePlus Ace Race Edition will feature a dual camera setup with an LED flash. The camera module is attached and edged with the right side of the frame.
The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the lock screen button, unlike the OnePlus Ace, which features an under-display fingerprint scanner. Since it does not support an under-display fingerprint sensor, the phone is most likely using an IPS LCD panel. Previously, another OnePlus device also appeared in TENAA certification and was expected to be the OnePlus Ace Race Edition, but there are many differences between them.
As mentioned earlier, the device comes with the Dimensity 8100 Max chipset, an improved version of the Dimensity 8100. It is worth noting that MediaTek has partnered with OnePlus to exclusively design the Dimensity 8100 Max. The phone will also feature breakthroughs in cooling, fast processing, vibration motor, and battery life.
OnePlus also revealed that this phone is priced at around 2000 RMB ($295). In the coming days, OnePlus is expected to announce more highlights of the device.
