OPPO A55 5G launched with Dimensity 700 and 5000mAh battery

Today, OPPO has quietly launched a new phone in its A-Series. The smartphone is called the OPPO A55 5G, which appears to be the successor to the OPPO A53.

Display:
The OPPO A55 features a 6.5-inch LCD display. The display has a V-shaped notch and features the following specifications: HD+ resolution (1600 x 720), 60Hz refresh rate with a 60Hz touch sampling rate, 269 PPI pixel density, 480 nits brightness, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and an 88.7% screen-to-body ratio.

Dimensions & Weight:
The phone measures 163.9 x 75.7 x 8.4 mm and weighs about 186g.

Chipset & Battery:
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset, an octa-core chipset built on a 7nm process. The chipset has a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz and comes with a MediaTek Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It also features a 5000mAh battery and supports 10W charging.

Camera:
The OPPO A55 has a triple camera system (13MP, 2MP, 2MP). The main camera is a 13MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture; the secondary camera is a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture; the third lens is a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera uses an 8MP single-lens design with an f/2.0 aperture.

Storage & Pricing:
This phone is available in only one storage variant: 6GB RAM + 128GB, priced at CNY 1499 ($231). There are two color options: Brisk Blue and Rhythm Black.

Hardware:
The phone has a USB-C port for charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Users can purchase this phone through Chinese e-commerce websites such as JD.com or Tmall, and it is also available on OPPO’s official website.
