Yesterday, Realme announced that the Realme GT5 will launch on August 28. This morning, Realme announced that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The chipset was launched at the end of last year. It is built on TSMC’s 2nd-generation 4nm process and has a 3.2 GHz Cortex-X3.2 super core. The chipset also integrates a Snapdragon X70 5G modem and an Adreno 740 GPU.
Compared to its predecessor, the chipset helps the Realme GT5 deliver a 35% and 25% increase in CPU and GPU performance, respectively. The CPU and GPU power consumption reduction rates are 40% and 45%, respectively.
The Realme GT5 also comes with the X7 discrete display chip. The purpose of this chip is unknown. However, this will help provide a smooth display with a higher refresh rate.
The top-of-the-line variant of the Realme GT5 will come with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. These two approaches can provide a powerful storage solution.
According to reports, the phone comes with a 6.74-inch OLED display with a punch hole in the center. It supports 1.5K Full HD resolution and has a 16MP lens in the punch hole.
The phone has a triple camera module on the back, including a 50MP lens, an 8MP lens, and a 2MP lens. The phone will be available in two battery models: a 4,600 mAh battery with 240W charging and a 5,200 mAh battery with 150W charging.
