Redmi Gaming Phone Will Be A Enhanced Version of Redmi K40, Coming on April 27

A few days ago, Redmi officially announced that the company is about to bring its first-ever gaming phone. Even the smartphone got listed on many certification sites, but its appearance and the launch date were still unknown. Today, the officials has revealed almost all the details.

Recently, the General Manager of Redmi (Lu Weibing) has announced that the all-new gaming phone will be an enhanced version of the Redmi K40, and it would be launched officially on April 27. The complete name of the phone would be “Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.”

The launch posters also showed that the all-new Redmi Gaming phone would feature a triple camera setup. There are also two words mentioned on the camera bump “speediest” and “freezing.” The phone is expected to have a carbon fibre back design, as observed in the poster.

It is also observed that the new gaming phone might have a special gaming button. As can be seen, there is a sliding button that pop-up another button and lighten up the camera area. The officials also mentioned the slogan: Not as thin and light as a “hardcore gaming phone.”

Previously, it was also revealed that the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition would also feature the Samsung’s E4 AMOLED  Punch-Hole display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display would have a small aperture like the standard Redmi K40, and the size of side bezels and bottom chins will also be shallow.

In terms of chipset, the phone is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 1200, based on a 6nm manufacturing process. It consists 1x Ultra Cortex-A78 core (clocked @ 3GHz), 3x Super Cortex-A78 Cores (clocked @ 2.6GHz) and 4x Efficiency Cortex-A55 Cores (clocked @ 2GHz).

A 5000mAh battery will be equipped inside the phone, which supports 67W fast charging (as revealed in the 3C Certification). The phone would also feature a side fingerprint scanner as well.

The all-new Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be announced on April 27 at 19:30 (Chinese Timing) in an online event.
