This morning, Digital Chat Station shared a significant development from TCL. The company is now working on its first foldable phone, and the blogger shared images of its testing prototype.
As seen from the pictures, this TCL foldable phone uses a vertical folding design. As the blogger mentioned, the main screen measures 6.67 inches, while the 1.1-inch secondary screen is located below the dual cameras on the back of the device.
The blogger further revealed that the prototype of this TCL foldable phone is nearly complete, which means the retail version we are about to see will likely have little difference. Its punch-hole foldable display is manufactured by CSOT, and the quality is excellent. The expected price is around CNY 5,000.
This vertical foldable phone is almost the same as the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G launched last month, which is priced at $1,000. Given that the expected price of the TCL foldable phone is around $775, we can conclude that it will pose a strong challenge to the sales of the Galaxy Z Flip3 in the Chinese market.
The internal specifications of this foldable phone have not been revealed yet. We expect to receive the relevant information in the next few days.
