This morning, the famous Chinese blogger @Digital Chat Station has shared a significant development from TCL. The company is now working on its first foldable phone. The blogger has revealed the images of its testing/prototype machine.
In the images, it can be seen that this new folding phone from TCL adopts a vertically folding solution. As said by the blogger, the screen size of the main display is 6.67 inches, while there is a 1.1 inches secondary screen (for use while the phone is folded) placed under the dual camera lenses on the backside.
The blogger further revealed that this prototype of TCL’s first folding-screen phone is almost complete, which means that the retail version we will get has not much difference. The manufacture of this single punch-hole foldable display is Huaxing, and its quality also seems excellent. The expected price is around 5K yuan ($775).
It is observed that this vertical foldable phone is almost the same as the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, which was launch last month at a price tag of $1000. As the expected price of TCL’s foldable is around $775, we can conclude that it might give tough competition to Galaxy Z Flip3 sales not globally but at the domestic (Chinese market) level.
The internal specifications of this foldable-screen phone aren’t revealed yet. We can expect them in the coming days.
