Back in May 2022, Vivo launched its Vivo S15 lineup, which included three models. The basic model was powered by a mid-range chipset, while the high-end model was powered by a sub-flagship chipset. However, the company is looking forward to releasing this lineup’s successor series.
This morning, Vivo officially announced (on Weibo) that the all-new Vivo S16 series will be launched on December 22 at 7 PM (Chinese Timing). In the official announcement, the company also mentioned the teaser in which the words “S16” are continuously promoted.
All three devices included in the Vivo S16 lineup were revealed on Vivo’s China site, and some of their specifications were shown.
It is reported that the basic model Vivo S16e will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1080 chipset, the standard Vivo S16 will be powered by Snapdragon 870 sub-flagship chipset, and the top-end variant will be powered by Mediatek Dimensity 8200, another sub-flagship chipset which got recently revealed.
All three models in the Vivo S16 lineup will feature a centered single punch-hole display and come in a new Cyan color scheme. It is also revealed that the entire Vivo S16 series features a 50MP front camera supporting portrait focus.
On the backside, the Vivo S16 lineup comes with OIS (optical image stabilization) supported outsole primary camera lens. It is also reported that Vivo has developed an all-new soft light portrait algorithm for its Vivo S16 lineup.
Further, a better battery backup and large storage option would also be the main highlight of this lineup. The entire series will support 80W fast charging. And in terms of storage, the standard Vivo S16 will have an 8+256GB storage version, while the Pro model has 12+256GB and 12+512GB storage versions.
It is expected that Vivo will start revealing the significant highlights of its Vivo S16 series in the coming days till the launch event, which will happen on December 22.
